Still Life

A 1964 MG Magnette.

I bought it twelve years ago, from a friend of a friend.
Over the years, in car parks and at petrol stations,
many men have told me that their father drove the same car when they were young.

A big red folder came with the car.
It’s got all the receipts, tax discs, and log books from its fifty years.

I decided to tell the story of the car’s life.
I tracked down the previous owners and asked them to send me photographs of the car when they owned it.

I used their photographs to make a short film, which was played on a screen within the car.
